Allan Paton

I joined the L+H team as a quantity surveyor in 2011 after completing my MSc in Construction Management and was promoted to Director in 2020.

Whilst my core experience is in new build and refurbishment projects for the social housing sector,  I’ve gained considerable experience working sports facilities, car dealerships, care home facilities as well as the conservation of historic buildings .

I’m known within the team for providing expert construction law and contractual advice and when I’m not doing that or cost planning, contract drafting, providing procurement advice, or carrying out development appraisals, you’ll find me online browsing holidays!

Commissions for projects have varied in value from £30K to £60M.

• I’m the in-house groundworks measurement expert; often called on to produce 2D & 3D graphical models of the development site for clients.
• In my spare time, I am an APC Assessor for RICS.
• I’m a sunworshipper and enjoy regular holidays abroad as well as travelling further afield to Australia and Thailand.
• I’m a bit of a music and movie buff

A little known fact about me:
I’m a member of a PT group of like-minded fitness fanatics.

What I cannot function without at work:
A scale ruler (haha!).

My guilty pleasure:
80s music.
